Currently co-owned by Founder Barbara “Barne” Thomas and Designer Sara Barton, Wild Flowers of Oregon has been doing business in Bend, Oregon since 1989.

When asked about the last twenty years Barne offered that the success of Wild Flowers has much to do with “not being your usual florist.” From the beginning Barne found that people really liked a natural, wild look to their arrangements. She shares that “the biggest reward over the years has been being involved in the most important moments of people’s lives, particularly their weddings.”

Barne took the opportunity to move Wild Flowers downtown in 2002 while continuing to offer quality, creativity and outstanding service to her customers. Five years later with Wild Flowers thriving, Barne knew she needed help. Bringing Sara on as a co-owner made sense because, Barne says, “Sara had been a great employee with lots of energy and great ideas. She had the ambition, energy and willingness to work hard that I was looking for in a business partner.”

Sara Barton began working in flower shops as a teenager. She’s seen the industry evolve over the years and when asked what she loves about Wild Flowers, she says “the creativity of each day! Every arrrangement and occasion is special. I am lucky to have gotten to know so many of our customers by name. Each occasion is different, some happy and some tragic…..I try not to forget either”. As a designer, Sara creates arrangements that fully embody the Wild Flowers design style incorporating unusual, wild and distinct flowers, fillers and greens.
